  1. Elementor with Crocoblock is hard to beat for creating dynamic websites. I personally can’t stand Gutenberg. It is pretty hideous and anti-intuitve on it’s own.

    1. It’s impossible to include every tool for Gutenberg in one video. The point is more than there are now viable Gutenturd based alternatives.

    2. @WPTuts Ya I get it. To me it’s weird because how do you even call these tools Gutenberg? I mean, they completely take over the editing experience almost entirely, so it feels less like a “Gutenberg tool” and more like a “visual builder that takes over the edit screen.” It doesn’t seem all that different just using Visual Composer or Beaver Builder or something. All I see is a big visual builder interface. Where Gutenberg hides itself in that, I don’t know. All WordPress has to do is come up with some major change and now all these builders have to scramble to become compatible again. It’s a builder that’s built on top of another builder as a dependency. Feels fragile.
And then as Gutenberg continues to add features, those identical features in the addon builder become less relevant. It’s like they are undergoing planned obsolescence. Again it just feels weird.
I’d rather use a builder that is fully independent, uses its own theme or underlying framework and doesn’t have to be tacked on to whatever WP is doing with Gutenberg.

  2. I started designing my WordPress with Gutenberg a few months ago simply because I did not know much about other page builders. I heard of them but decided to not add any “unnecessary” plugins.

Gutenberg was not a fun experience. After a couple of weeks of using it I decided to install Elementor and never looked back. Since I am only building my own site (and rather a small one with 20 pages at most), I do not need the Pro version. I loved the free version and I cannot see myself using Gutenberg any time soon.

  3. I’ve tried several FSE plugins, but I think Gutenverse is best suited for me, they have a friendly interface for new users like me, who want to try switching from Elementor to FSE , also they have various blocks which are very helpful in customizing a website. Has anyone tried it and agree with me?

    1. I fully agree, and what I enjoy the most is that, while there are numerous posibility, clever design keeps the choice easy.

  4. what? you’re introducing another page builder that supports gutenberg. Almost all pagebuilders nowadays supports gutenberg. So, we don’t need another one you’re introducing.

    1. I’m demonstrating options. If you choose to stick with the tools you’re used to, that’s fine. 🤷🏼‍♂️

  5. how to mobile optimize a post with Gutenberg please do a video. I tried but Title size could not change like Elementor.

  6. i tried it because u said so and i hate it. its not really easy to use it .. it literally sucks.. i am sorry sir but i am going to dislike the video

  7. One of my problems with these page builders is there’s too many options for admins. In other words designers need a way to lock in a layout for admins to work off of. I manage three WordPress websites with about 50 admins around the globe. The last thing I want is for them to have control of the page layouts or my websites will look like a hot mess real quick. I want them to just put in the data for the page and that’s it. There needs to be a way to create templates and limit data fields for non top level admins in these tools.

    1. For that type of content restriction, I’d build out a really simple frontend dashboard that removes the design options and only leaves the data input/editing.

That restricts the admins from making any form of visual changes and makes for a much easier set of tools for them to add and manage their content.

    2. @WPTuts That’s what I do. And since I’m comfortable with HTML and PHP I’d rather use WordPress’ built in hierarchy functions to build predefined templates rather than mess with a bloated plugin.

  8. There’s a key difference between Gutenberg and the current page builders. The other page builders were always optional. The default option was the classic editor and you had to click a button to use the page builder. But Gutenberg is always on.

Gutenberg might be a great page builder. It could be the best. But that’s irrelevant because it’s positioned as a replacement for the editor instead of an additional option. This breaks the fundamental purpose of themes. This violates the separation of content and design. It might be the shiny solution right now. But it’s going to be a nightmare if users who don’t know any better over design each and every blog post and get pissed when changing themes has little or no effect on their design.

  9. Think Gutenberg is becoming Frankenstein. Lots og builders, lots of blocks, lots of bugs. Every theme has its own Gutenberg blocks, Astra, kadence etc. high prices for a pro theme and then you aldo have to pay for their pro blocks to get full functionality, its a mess.
